When people think of protein
sources, meat products often come to mind. Meat isn't the only way to get
adequate protein. If it were, we wouldn't hear of individuals being vegetarians
for more than a few months probably. The lack of protein would lead to
any number of disease processes and eventually death. In order to avoid
severe illness or death, vegetarians can prepare any number of protein-rich,
meatless foods. These can include: soy, nuts, beans, split peas, bread,
pasta, and green vegetables. |
